SANGRE DE CRISTOS — BLANCA
COLLECTION: NEON
The second transmission in the Sangre de Cristos series strips the palette down to its darkest register — deep maroon and burgundy sky, mountain forms rendered in dense shadow with cyan and hot pink edging the ridgelines where geology meets the signal. The circuit board rising from the valley is here too, but subdued, dark red against dark red, visible only if you're looking. The river traces its contours through the foreground in careful lines. This is the range at the moment just before something happens — the sky compressed, the color held back. Standing before these mountains in person, there are moments when the light fails and the peaks go dark and enormous against the sky. This is that moment, run through the machine.
