SQUID

SERIES: Hand-Drawn Ink

Before the glitch. Before the neon. Before the circuit boards and pixel dissolution — there was a pen and a piece of paper and a hand that knew how to fill space with line. This squid is BasicGlitch in the original medium: traditional ink work, each tentacle filled with its own internal logic of hatching and crosshatch and stipple and grid, the mantle at the top dense with layered mark-making that builds toward black without ever becoming simple. It floats on the white of the page with the self-sufficiency of something that has never needed color. It is the root system of everything else on this site.
