Scale is the argument here. The elephant fills two-thirds of the canvas — face-on, tusks forward, ears spread wide, its hide an impossible blue-gold with mandala patterns orbiting its eye. Behind it, billowing upward in every direction, a cloud formation that has abandoned any pretense of being weather: magenta, crimson, electric blue, toxic green, all folding into fractal floral mandalas at the crown. And at the lower right, barely a silhouette — a lone figure in a long coat, facing all of it. They are not running. The most maximalist piece in the gallery.
