The yellow zigzag rising behind the silhouette reads simultaneously as mountain range and soundwave — which is exactly right, because for someone who has been a musician for 31 years, those two things have always been the same. The figure is in silhouette, anonymous, universal — this could be anyone's origin story, which is why it works as art rather than just as a personal photograph.
